PERFORMANCES
BiodiverCity, our project reduces land occupation while increasing its permeability. It successfully increases the albedo effect at the city center scale to reduce the impact of the "heat island" effect. All this without decreasing the existing buildability.
Restore the historical coherence of the site.
The site of the former Grands Moulins in the city of Corbeil-Essonnes holds paramount heritage value due to its location in the city, its history, and its architecture. The project we propose aims to restore the historical coherence of the site through the new programming of the use of the premises.
Respect the scale of the city while preserving the views.
We have worked on several key intentions to preserve and revitalize this heritage:
- Create a landscape continuity along the Seine.
- Amplify the presence of water in the landscape, making it "active" in both usage and the water cycle.
- Respect the scale of the city while preserving the views.
- Develop an active base by enlivening public spaces and activating the ground level with programs related to health, leisure, and food.
- Establish a new pedestrian pathway, creating a physical breakthrough within the Ateliers: along the Essonne, reaching the Seine through the newly pacified core of the block.
- Offer unique housing options with a series of terraced levels that enhance views and provide high-quality living spaces.
- Elevate public space and bring the Moulins to a human scale.
