It is by relying on history that the heart of the block will be redesigned.
Rue Édouard VII will be returned to the city by becoming a communication axis protected from urban nuisances.
The new interior constructions complete and continue the history by transcribing in a current language the architectural elements inherited from the pas.
In the same spirit, the new interior constructions complete and continue the history by transcribing in a current language the architectural elements inherited from the past: stone beds, projecting bodies, organization of base, mezzanine, floors and crownings (more contemporary).
Molding and horizontal cornices reinterpreted in negative; ceiling height decreasing from noble floors to more free attic ones as they are set back; roofs with elliptical curve adorned with prompter's box dormers; rotunda recovering an old staircase... Now housing 70 apartments and a hotel residence, 36,000 m² of offices and 8,000 m² of shops, a conference center and an inter-company restaurant, a theater and a music hall, 560 parking spaces and an underground coach park, this project demonstrates that preserving is also transforming.
