The "Them in the Water" project in Béziers aims to transform the Faubourg district into a resilient "urban bocage" in the face of flood risks. The main program is based on three innovative axes of adaptation to risks rather than passively enduring them. It relies on "prototype ideas" integrating a flood prevention action program. The EPTB Orb-Libron is leading this initiative, using a climate observation tool called "Innovative Sentinel" to anticipate conditions leading to flooding and overflow gardens to regulate these events.

The project aims to make Béziers a pioneer city by integrating climate data into its development policy, transforming the Faubourg into a resilient urban natural park and installing "beacon" facilities for an innovative and sustainable economy. "Them in the Water" encourages living in harmony with water, highlighting its economic, educational, social and recreational benefits.
The presence of water becomes an opportunity for Béziers.
The presence of water becomes an opportunity for Béziers, attracting new talent and establishing the city as a center of excellence in water knowledge and management. The Faubourg district is transformed into an "urban bocage" with overflow gardens regulating floods, offering leisure, sports, educational and agricultural spaces. The project awakens the dormant neighborhood through water, promoting the establishment of specialized schools and businesses, reinforcing the "City of Art and History" label. "Them in the Water" thus represents a pioneering and sustainable response to reduce flood risks and improve prevention.
