Urban verticality in question: Clémence Bechu explores the challenges of modern architecture

In the latest episode of the PERSPECTIVE podcast produced by Bouygues Immobilier and CALLIOPÉ | Agence de Podcasts de Marque, Clémence Bechu, general manager, explores the notion of verticality in urban architecture, a subject both fascinating and complex.

The episode, titled Is the city only experienced in height?, particularly highlights our Impasse Marie-Blanche project, which embodies an ingenious architectural response to this question.

Innovation is also reflected in the use of bio-based and geo-sourced materials.

Located in the heart of the 18th arrondissement of Paris, not far from Montmartre, the Impasse Marie-Blanche program responds to various environmental and societal challenges. Completed for ALTAREA Cogedim and delivered in 2017, this project is the first wooden structure building in Paris. Its mixed programming of 28 housing units allows social and ownership housing to coexist, reflecting life as it is organized in a village. Its unique architectural design softens the usual verticality of urban buildings, giving the impression that these are individual houses. This approach harmoniously respects the historical character of the Montmartre district while bringing a touch of originality and modernity. This project perfectly illustrates our commitment to innovation and sustainability, while revealing our ability to sensitively integrate the constraints and assets of the existing urban context.
